    Mihaela,

In March 2025 release the OAC OCPU requirement no longer is a constraint. If you use OpenAI LLM you can keep your current 4 or 6 OCPU. Starting with the May release, the requirement should also disappear as the OOTB OAC will no longer use digital assistant. Hope this helps

    Hi,

I am not sure I understand what you mean by OOTB OAC will no longer use digital assistant starting with May release. Isn't it the whole point to use the assistant? We are on 4 OCPU now and we hoped to use the embedded AI Assistant rather that use OpenAI at this point.

Starting in May, the embedded AI assistant will leverage OCI-GenAI Services instead of the ODA. Thus reducing the OAC OCPU requirement to match whatever you have in your instance rather than increasing. Does that make sense?

Ok. Clearer now. We are ok with the 4 OCPU that we have, as it is what we need. Only in lower environments we use less. However your clarification still does not explain why now we are unable to use current AI Assistant, given the fact that I can see the option of it on the data set. All I can see is on the Configuration side that the AI Assistant is marked as not activated I have tried to activate it, but it does not work...

Ok, let me try to answer it like this. In the March release for embedded, the number of OCPU must be set 10. If your instance is at 4, it will not work even if you have configured the data set (like below). In May release you no longer have this constraint as I described. The only option for 4 OCPU in March release is OpenAi which you already mentioned is not your desired approach. So next month, even in lower environments you will be able to enable using embedded because as I mentioned it's moving to OCI GenAi service (Llama 3.x). At least this is the information I have…I cannot guarantee all features and functions and dates, but like I said this is what I understand to be in the product roadmap.

    Thank you. Clear now.

I hope that indeed everything will work out starting with May release

  • Once the May version is released, it will take couple of days to get the feature enabled.

When will May version will be released?

  • Hi @Mihaela Matei

    Hi @Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle @Jacques V.-Oracle ,

We currently have OAC Mar 2025 patch in our OAC instance with 2 OCPU. Though we could import a dataset and index search to use, we notice 'The Assistant feature is currently disabled as no language model has been assigned. Please contact your service administrator to assign a language model to enable this feature' message when we go to Assistant tab in insights.

Can you give us some clarity on when AI Assistant feature is planned to be rolled out for OAC instances with < 10 OCPUs by each region?
